Ai Engineering Leadership, Backend / Platform Engineering, Cloud / Devops Architecture, Engineering Leadership, Engineering Management, Full-Stack Leadership, Integration / Api Architecture, Principal / Staff Engineering, Software Architecture, Solutions Architecture, Technical Leadership
Compensation: C$54,000–C$78,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Revun is the software platform and infrastructure layer behind modern property operations.
The platform brings together CRM functionality, leasing workflows, maintenance operations, payments, owner and vendor payouts, communications, compliance, reporting, AI automation, staff dashboards, tenant/owner/vendor portals, third-party integrations, and multiple user roles into one connected operating system.
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Architect / Technical Lead to take technical ownership of the platform, lead the engineering team, evaluate the existing technology, strengthen the architecture, and help move the product toward a stable commercial launch.
This is not a purely advisory architecture position.
You will be expected to understand the existing application at a deep technical level, challenge weak technical decisions, lead developers, review engineering quality, identify technical and architectural risks, and determine what should be retained, improved, refactored, replaced, or rebuilt.
You will serve as a senior technical authority for the platform and work directly with company leadership and product management.
The right candidate will combine deep hands-on engineering experience with architecture expertise and engineering leadership.
Take technical ownership of the architecture, engineering quality, technical audit, and launch readiness of Revun.
Conduct a detailed assessment of the existing frontend, backend, databases, APIs, integrations, AI workflows, infrastructure, security, permissions, financial workflows, deployment processes, and overall codebase.
Determine what should be retained, improved, refactored, replaced, or rebuilt based on technical risk, business impact, development effort, and long-term scalability.
Identify technical debt, architectural weaknesses, security vulnerabilities, scalability risks, data-integrity issues, incomplete workflows, development problems, and launch blockers.
Lead and provide technical direction to remote frontend, backend, integration, AI/automation, DevOps/cloud, and QA engineering resources.
Evaluate developer capabilities, technical output, estimates, code quality, productivity, and ability to execute assigned work.
Review code and pull requests, challenge weak engineering decisions, resolve technical blockers, and ensure developers follow established architectural and development standards.
Translate product and business requirements into scalable technical solutions and engineering plans.
Work closely with the Technical Product Manager to evaluate technical feasibility, dependencies, complexity, timelines, and trade-offs before development begins.
Strengthen platform architecture across APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, role-based access control, audit logging, permissions, workflow automation, and system integrations.
Review financial-system reliability across payments, owner/vendor payouts, ledger activity, reconciliation, transaction history, audit trails, and reporting.
Evaluate AI/LLM functionality for reliability, structured outputs, hallucination risk, privacy, security, monitoring, cost control, and measurable business value.
Improve integration reliability through APIs, webhooks, queues, retries, rate-limit handling, logging, monitoring, idempotency, and failed-sync recovery.
Establish and enforce engineering standards covering code reviews, branching, testing, QA, CI/CD, deployments, documentation, monitoring, incident response, and production release controls.
Provide leadership with clear assessments of technical risks, engineering performance, development progress, architecture decisions, resource requirements, and launch readiness.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant hands-on development experience.
4+ years in software architecture or senior technical leadership, such as Senior Software Architect, Technical Architect, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience architecting and leading the development of complex, production SaaS applications.
Strong backend and platform architecture expertise, including databases, APIs, distributed systems, authentication, authorization, RBAC, security, scalability, performance, and data integrity.
Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture and the ability to evaluate frontend engineering decisions and code quality.
Experience inheriting an existing software platform and determining what should be retained, refactored, replaced, or rebuilt.
Experience leading and technically managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, including frontend and backend developers.
Ability to evaluate developer capability, challenge estimates, identify weak engineering practices, and hold technical resources accountable for their work.
Strong experience designing and integrating APIs, webhooks, asynchronous processing, queues, retries, logging, monitoring, rate-limit handling, and failure-recovery mechanisms.
Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, production deployments, QA processes, incident management, security, and launch readiness.
Experience with complex SaaS, CRM, workflow automation, marketplace, fintech/payment, PropTech, field-service, or other multi-user operational platforms.
Practical experience integrating AI/LLM functionality into production applications, including evaluation, monitoring, privacy, hallucination risk, human review, and cost management.
Ability to move between high-level architecture and detailed technical investigation when necessary.
Excellent English communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations clearly to non-technical leadership.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
15+ years of software engineering experience.
Previous experience as a Principal Engineer, Senior Architect, Technical Architect, Engineering Lead, or similar senior technical authority.
Experience taking an existing SaaS product through technical stabilization and commercial launch.
Experience performing technical audits or taking ownership of software platforms originally developed by another engineering team.
Experience in PropTech, real estate technology, property management software, CRM platforms, maintenance/field-service platforms, fintech, payments, compliance systems, or marketplace applications.
Experience with complex platforms supporting multiple user types, including administrators, employees, vendors, customers, owners, tenants, professional users, and external partners.
Experience building or modernizing high-volume workflow and transaction-processing systems.
Relevant cloud, architecture, security, DevOps, or AI certifications.
You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of Revun's existing technology and give leadership a clear, evidence-based view of:
What is technically strong and should remain.
What needs improvement or refactoring.
What presents significant technical or launch risk.
Whether existing engineering resources are performing at the required level.
What engineering resources or expertise are missing.
What must be completed before commercial launch.
How the platform should evolve technically as it scales.
We are looking for someone who can make sound technical decisions and lead engineers through executing them, not simply produce architecture diagrams or recommendations.
C$54,000–C$78,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, technical depth, and the scope of the role.
Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
